(Q) Exactly which Snes emulator is this a port from?
(A) Snes9X 1.39 based from the Windows sources

(Q) Damn, i was hoping for ZSnes instead. Why didnt you port that?
(A) I dont have a month to spend trying to figure out the .asm sources sorry. Respect goes out to anyone who does however.

(Q) The sound doesnt even sound like a proper Snes machine in lots of games. Whats the problem?
(A) Snes9x sound routines have some issues. Remember this is a port of existing emulator source. Try playing around with the 'AltSampleDecode' switch along with some of the other sound flags in the .ini file

(A) check the xSnes9x.txt readme

(Q) How does I build an iso image of xSnes9x?
(A) Figure it out its not hard. *hint* mkisofs.

(Q) My iso only runs the first 50 or so roms even though i burned it with 800!
(A) Your cd media and/or the way you created your .iso is bad.

(Q) Can i insert a new cd in the tray and have xSnes9x update my romlist?
(A) Yes as of Beta 5. But you need to be aware of some things. First you need a bios capable of no eject on reset. Second your cd media must contain its roms in the root folder.

(Q) When i press eject my xbox reboots, Why?
(A) Your bios doesnt support no eject on reset.

(Q) What do these options do in the ini file?
(A) check the Snes9x windows version on what they do. If you dont know then you shouldnt really be messing with them.

(A) set UsePointFiltering=0 in your ini file.

(Q) When i load a rom i get a black screen. Why?
(A) This is a bug. Most likely you are using Beta 4, Upgrade to B5 it will fix this issue or if you want to persist with Beta 4 set ForcePAL=1 or ForceNTSC=1 depending on your region of Xbox.

(Q) xSnesx takes an awful long time to load, it looks like its crashed. Whats going on?

(A) Yes, at some point.

(A) To give back to the xbox homebrew scene.

(Q) Why doesnt Super Mario Kart and other DSP1 games work for me?
(A) Mario Kart and selected other DSP1 games should run as of Beta 3.

(Q) Menu sorting doesnt work, why?
(A) Fixed as of Beta 3

(Q) Why doesnt <insert game here> work?
(A) Refer to the original Snes9x texts for compat issues. Most, if not all games that work on Snes9x Win should run fine. There are some games which dont run because they have custom chips which havent been emulated yet due to lack of documentation on those custom chips. Finally make sure you dont have a bad dump of the particular rom. There are lots of bad dumps going around.

(Q) Does Starfox2 Beta 1.1 work?
(A) Kinda, but its not really playable. To get it to run, load a rom first, then quit out then load Starfox2. It runs fine with full graphics and sound but as soon as you get to a stage it resets emulation.

(Q) How do I report a bug?
(A) Let one of the ops know in the channel you received xSnes9x from. They will pass it on to me.

(Q) When is the next release due?
(A) Whenever.
