Xenesis v0.9 Beta

What is it?
----------------------------------

It is a port of the Sega Megadrive/Genesis/32X/Sega CD emulator.
Ported to the XBOX by Carcharius.

But Gens has already been ported..!

True, both Hikaru and Xport have released versions of Gens, each with their own merits, but it never hurts to have options!  I’m hoping that Xenesis does things well enough and differently enough that some people will find it useful.

I actually started working on this quite a while ago. At the time I wasn’t aware of anyone else working on a port and seeing as the Megadrive was my gaming machine of choice when I was younger I thought I’d have a go and see if I could produce something useful.

It has taken a while for me to get to this stage. This has been my first attempt at a project of this type (both my first XBOX project as well as my first C++ work).

Once Hikaru and then Xport released their versions I decided to continue with mine because I was enjoying it and learning a lot.




So what does it do?
----------------------------------

I think I’ve been able to get quite a decent amount of features into this first release. 

Here are the main ones.

 - Xenesis v0.9 Beta
 - Megadrive/Genesis emulation
 - 32X emulation
 - Sega CD emulation
 - Supports bin/iso + mp3 images for Sega CD games
 - Also supports booting of Sega CD’s, both original and backup
 - Save/Load state support (5 save states per ROM)

 - Four player support
 - Option to use analog stick for directional control (with selectable sensitivity)
 - Redefinable button layouts for each player
 - Game Genie/Action Replay cheat code support

 - Selectable video filtering modes, including 2xSAI and Advance Mame
 - Widescreen support (front end uses XBOX default setting, in game is selectable)

 - Surround speaker support (not actual surround sound, but output to all available speakers)

 - User interface with favourites and sub folder support
