I've been at IBM for 60+ hours a week for the past few months, I might be a little rusty on this
tutorial with everything being exact, so please forgive if anything is off
No flaws besides Reset on eject. No clock loops and no corrupt sound track files!
Note: drive must be opened before hitting A on the "Xbox live" tab if you want to play a dvd backup
What you will need:
*If you have a newer Xbox where the dashboard can be degraded but PBL 1.3.5i does not work on it, I included
PBL 1.4.1, which I never got to work. You will just have to copy over the xboxrom.bin in the BIOSES folder
within the "E" directory to the 1.4.1 BIOSES folder included and play with it yourself*
1. A Xbox with a old enough kernel that the dashboard can be downgraded
2. Xbox Dashboard 4920 (I hate to saying it, as much as I hate slayers you can find it in 2.5)
3. FTP access to the Xbox hard disk (through a gamesave exploit or audio exploit etc.)
4. Some free time
What to do:
First, the dashboard needs to be downgraded (might work with newer, but 4920 is the only one I tested it on
so bare with me) if not already. So if you don't have the dashboard stated, download Slayers 2.5 and it will
be in the "\SYSTEM\ALL\c" directory. Delete ALL the files (*make sure your dash can be degraded first*) in C
drive on your Xbox and replace them with the files from the "\SYSTEM\ALL\c" Slayers directory
Next you will need to go into the "xodash" directory that is in your Xbox C drive. Here you will rename the file
xonlinedash.xbe to xonlinedash.bak
Now copy all the contents inside the "C" directory provided in the rar you obtained this readme from to your
Xbox C drive
And copy all the contents inside the "E" diretory provided in the rar you obtained this readme from to your
Xbox E drive
Now you will need to place any xbe you would like to be loaded (renamed to "evoxdash.xbe") in the root of your
C drive (once again, another named xbe might work, I just didn't feel like editing the bios in xbtool)
*note: the xbe you rename to evoxdash.xbe and place in the C drive does not need to be signed*
To execute the exploit, you will need to boot the Xbox up without any disc, and press A on the the "Xbox Live" tab.
PS: the 2nd dash is 4034 for all curious & I have played with this exploit on xbox live with no problems (originals
of course, still no backups on live)
enjoy
